I have updated Java. I downloaded Optifine on the official site. But I can't do it. Neither Minecraft Forge. I have read dozens of instructions, but somewhere it looked to me then in the manual or it lacked programs that were not there even after re-download, where they should be.
I've been here for days now and really do not know what to do next. I would be very happy if someone who knows my stuff could help me to run these jar files. I just want to install Optifine and Minecraft Forge without having to study computer science for long.
Do java and / or javac work via CMD?
Which operating system?
Which Java version do you have installed? (8, 10, 11)
Is it possible that the jar file is not opened with java (can you tell by the white Java symbol)?
Try right-clicking> Open with> Java (TM) Platform SE binary.
Unfortunately, I do not understand that. I do not know my profession so professionally. I can describe what I do and where things do not continue as they should:
If I download the file and select "Java" with "Open With", nothing happens. It opens a black window, which is immediately closed again.
Then you lack important basics to operate a server at all, it is not a game, it is free and so it says, you have to be admin or have the basics of an admins so that you can run a server.
You can google CMD. Windows CMD.
I have tried again, but there's only a short black window and disappears directly again. Previously, the program was always running.
Incidentally, all programs are the latest version.
