How can I switch a Minecraft account to another device?

I recently built a PC and wanted to install Minecraft and don't want to buy a new Minecraft because I still have Minecraft on the iPad,

Now to my question: Can I simply use the Microsoft account from my iPad on my PC or do I have to download Minecraft again on the PC?

You can use the same profile, but you still have to buy Minecraft again on new platforms.
