Why is my 1.8 not working?

I'm an active minecraft player but I have the problem that I can't start it because otherwise there's a crash or an error message.

Ja

PC / laptop?
Using mods?
Operating system?
Error message?

La

Have you tried reinstalling the game?

Al

There are no mods in the game Windows 10 and there's something about game crash

Ja

Do other versions work?

Hu

Can't you start 1.8 or your Minecraft in general? Do you use Optifine Labymod or other modifications? I would check for updates or reinstall Minecraft if it really doesn't work anymore. How about your ram or memory, because when it becomes scarce or overwhelmed, Minecraft can sometimes not start. Hope it works.

Al

Yes the whole folder

Al

Yes all except 1.8

Al

I do not use any modifications or the like and no, nothing is overwhelmed

Ja

Have you tried deleting the 1.8 version from the versions and downloading it again?

Hu

Then I would really recommend you to reinstall it.

Al

I already have it );

Al

Yes 3 times

Ja

Depending on how much RAM you have installed in your device, you can try to assign more RAM to version 1.8. To do this, go to Minecraft in the launcher: Java Edition → Installations → 1.8 → Click on the three dots → Edit → More options → for "JVM arguments" in this part: "-Xmx? G" the "?" or replace your number there with another one. Half of the maximum RAM installed is sufficient for temptation purposes. So if you have 4 GB of RAM then enter "-Xmx2G" or if you have 8 GB of RAM "-Xmx4G" etc.

I guess a faulty file is to blame

Press the Windows key (the one with the four squares) and R at the same time.

A small field opens… Enter% appdata% with the% characters.

Navigate to the folder that opens

.minecraft -> versions

Delete the folder that is called 1.8.

The next time you try to start 1.8, the version will reinstall and then it should work again
