My problem is that in my case i want to download minecraft forrge and run it as installer
but since my pc always downloads it as a winrar file and not as a .jar file, i can't get it to run
my question is how do i restore origin so that if i download a .jar file it also remains a .jar file and do not make a winrar or just this winrar again in a .jar
I think it's still a .jar. You only set WinRar as the standard program for .jar, which is why it displays the WinRar icon there.
To run a .jar, you must also have Java installed.
If you have that, right click on Forge - "Open with" and select Java.
Well i tried other programs on java and then java there's a short black picture and then it is gone again>.>
And how do I make it a .jar file that I can run for an installation?
