I've been having problems with Minecraft on Macbook for a while now.
I was able to easily play the 1.12 version some time ago, but as soon as I tried to update to the latest version, the launcher crashed every time and there was just a short error message: "An unexpected problem has occurred and the game has crashed. We apologize for the inconvenience."
Then googled something and found out that it could be due to Java. I then brought this to the latest version and also on my Mac, there are no software updates, so it is up to date.
Also, the tip that you should disable "Resolution" in minecraft profile, did not work.
How can I fix this and get Minecraft to start?

Radical solution would be to completely delete your Minecraft folder and then do a clean reinstall. If you save the "saves" folder beforehand and then copy it back, you have all scores again.

I have just tried it, this error occurs only in the new versions 1.13 and 1.14. It works until 12.2, but I would also like to see the new features. : /
