Help!
I just downloaded Forge (1.7.10) but I can't install it now.
The message comes: "There's no minecraft directory set up. Either choose an alternative, or run the minecraft launcher to create one."
I created a 1.7.10 profile in Minecraft Launcher, but it still doesn't work.
Please help me.
The problem is that Forge can't find the .Minecraft folder… Change the path below
What for?
(so how do I have to change that?)
Well imagine the following:
Forge has a file that is executed when you click on minecraft and then quasi starts Minecraft only with forge… (It is logical). But for this to work, forge must first ensure that if you click on minecraft, this file will also be executed… For this, this file must first be in the correct folder, but this is not what Forge finds… That's why you have to change the path, the Forge finds the right folder
And which is the right folder? 😅
Well that's difficult to say… Press windows + r and type in the window that opens;
% appdata%
no more no less, press enter and then go to .minecraft
(This should be a folder that you open…) Then go to the folder icon in the upper left corner of the File Explorer under Start next to the arrow. Paste the following path into Forge
Error message is gone. Something seems to be happening. Hopefully the right one
Excellent! Glad I hopefully could help!
Is installed and now also in the launcher as a profile, thanks.
Excellent! I'm glad
Just by chance an idea why I don't have a mod folder at .minecraft? Can I just create a new one?
Have it already
That's a common problem… Just a folder called
mods
create… If you already have the problem with mods, it may well be that this happens to shaderpacks at Optifine (if you download Optifine)
Then just create a folder…
-> Make sure that the mod matches your Forge version
Ah na supi 👍 xD still have fun!
Thanks you saved my life
i dont have that foulder
