Change MC name via launcher_profiles?

You could change the upper and lower case in your Minecraft name via the "launcher_profiles.json" file in the .minecraft folder, right?

Is that still possible or not anymore? In videos about it there was always a point in the .json file

No, I mean that. You could change the upper and lower case at any time via a file in the .minecraft folder (lauchner_profiles.json). There you could e.g. If the in-game "Maxi" was called the name was changed to "mAxI" (so only change upper and lower case). My question now was whether this is still the case, since the line required for it is no longer in this document. Also gave tutorials about it
