Since we want to play Minecraft with self-made mods in LAN multiplayer, and I have no desire to constantly copy here and there due to constant mods updates, I need an FTP server program where it can access my data with the router connected to the PC. So that you can easily access Minecraft folders via FTP file server without copying and play with two mods.
Filezilla.
YES with Filezilla you can access files, but I still need a server.
But you won't find any software for that. You have to rent a web space that is suitable for what you want to do. Or you have to set up a PC with you that does this server.
Or I understand something wrong.
Oh god's sake, why should I make unnecessary expenses for web space just because there's only two of us in the same house who can access our own files. In addition, it shouldn't land over the Internet because we have such a catastrophic upload speed, because we only want to access local files over LAN. So that with the web space is unfortunately not a smart method.
I would use ssh or sftp for this.
for linux very simple because this is mostly integrated… You can then log in with sftp client like filezilla with the access data from the server.
But you didn't say anything about "in the house".
So you want to distribute files in the local network? The easiest way to do this is to use Windows shares. If you have a Linux system, you can do that with Samba or you can use SFTP (OpenSSH server has integrated SFTP).
The most pleasant solution would probably be Syncthing, which is a decentralized synchronization software. Since it works with peer-to-peer connections, it only runs over the local network if possible.
Yes, with us it never works with Windows approval. It's typical micro-scrap Windoof. Even Minecraft Bukkit Server always runs without problems with us.
The protocol is also quite a botch. It may work if you enter the IP and not the host name.
If the other alternatives are too complex for you, there's also an FTP server from FileZilla.
And then you can access the file directly in Filezilla (e.g. Also start programs) without having to copy the file first? Because there I have to use Filezilla as Minecraft folder for 2Player Mods.
It should still be possible to integrate FTP in Windows as a network drive so that it behaves like an internal drive. I'm not sure how well this works though, FTP, unlike SMB, is not designed for this purpose.
