At the moment you can only use Fabric or Forge. Some mods are programmed in such a way that they can also run with Fabric, e.g. OptiFine with the OptiFabric add-on, as shown in the video - which OlafFackel2000 has linked.

A patcher that allows you to patch mods to run on Fabric is in progress.
