Minecraft Villager?

I've got a couple of villagers and also increased them properly. However, I would now like to divide these sections into cabins, but I don't know if they need a bed to do their new trades.

If you level up the villagers with the existing trades, they will get new trades. In order to "fill up" the trades you have to sleep once. Also, you need a bed anyway and a specific "work block" that will give them a job.

The "filling up" happens on the work block, not while sleeping. The villagers don't need a bed
