Transporting Minecraft Villagers?

Can you transport 2 villagers from A to B at once? If yes how?

With a rail system and 2 trolleys.

I can't think of any other option. Boats don't go with two people, and you can't put them on a leash either.

With 2 it will be difficult but you could put a machine system from point A to point B where you put the villager down and let it go.
