Which Minecraft version are you using? Java (PC only) or Bedrock (Win 10, mobile phone)
Just needs a server to play that you have to buy normally
There are some for free here but you have to wait a bit until you have one
Are you both on the same Lan / Wlan?
Everyone has their own Minecraft account?
Are you two playing the same version? (there's JAVA and BEDROCK)
The game leader starts his world, goes to the menu and selects "Share world in the network" (or something like that)?
