How can I store objects there / mac without dragging things into a Minecraft box?

I know some YouTubers who seem to be clicking on items in their inventory when they play Minecraft and these items would then be stored directly in the box, have already tried the SHIFT key + left click but apparently does not work… Has anyone experience or use the function?

Shift + Click, why is that not the case for you? Hold Shift and then click on the items

Shift left click on the items. Only works from a certain version.

From which version should I know

For me it doesn't matter whether hold shift and then middle mouse click left macus click or right mouse click

Go to settings, controls and switch off touchscreen mode.
