Is there a way to play together on the Minecraft Java Edition without:
Spending money
and to be in the same network?
Open a server.
with Aternos, for free of course
Hamachi or similar services set up a network that friends of yours can join. This makes your internet or games believe that you are connected via LAN (i.e. In the same network) and then you can open a world via LAN and play with your friends
How long does it take until the server is online?
I would also simply suggest a free server provider. There are different ones. Aternos, Server.pro, Ploudos…
I think Ploudos is the best, always runs quite smoothly (in contrast to Lagternos.)
Or you just play together on a server. You can then play different game modes together, which were developed by the community, for example SkyWars or BedWars. UHC is pretty cool too. There's even a randomizer UHC on one server, so all drops are swapped.
3min
It depends if you are lucky only for a few minutes. In the past, however, you sometimes waited 40 minutes at peak times
You can also set up a server on your PC and then simply set a port share on the FRITZ! Make box. There are many tutorials on YouTube. Otherwise I would recommend athernos. The servers need about 3 minutes to start up, but otherwise everything runs smoothly.
Since the whole thing has not been suggested here:
You can also host your own server
Has the advantage that if your computer is good your server benefits from it, but if it is bad then it may not be able to cope with the server and Minecraft at the same time. You should definitely assign more ram to the server as well. Another advantage is that you don't have to make the server public via port forwarding, you just need to use the local ips of the network. Working with it is much easier and you have more freedom
