I downloaded a program to make Minecraft add-ons and checked it with Windows Defender. He didn't recognize anything, but with Malwarebytes I found a PUP. I wanted to ask what a PUP is and whether it is dangerous.
PuP stands for "Potentially Unwanted Program". This can be a virus, but it can also be a hoax.
I appreciate potentially unwanted program
How do I know if it was a hoax?
That depends on the program. Where did you get it from Do others have it from there and can confirm that it is safe and working? If not, then stay careful and remove
It was an add-on mod maker for MInecraft Bedrock. There's also a fadt 5 star app, same manufacturer, that has 1 million downloads. The author is PA Technologies.
If you downloaded it from where it has this rating and the PUP assumes it, you can allow it as an exception, because then it seems to be a hoax
PUP (potentially unwanted program) is primarily adware that manipulates the browser, e.g. By manipulated search results, advertisements past the ad blocker or by changing the standard search engine.
No. I'm on the PC and the app is Android only. I found a website called FreeDL (just looking for a new Mod Maker) and you could download it there. Windows Defender did not recognize the PUP either?
If you have discovered it, you are sure that the program is covered, but it is not, can you still remove it?
Mostly you can. https://de.malwarebytes.com/...dwcleaner/ helps.
Malwarebytes?
Windows Defender does not detect any malware and with Malwarebytes this program can detect a false report of malware.
I would just be careful with such sites and only download something from there, which also makes a safe impression. Especially about Minecraft Mods etc. A lot of malware is spread from the wrong side
This is the name of the manufacturer of AdwCleaner. Bought it up and developed it a few years ago by an independent French developer.
It's just not a normal Minecraft mod. I know that many things are transferred via Minecraft JAVA Mods, but I'm talking about an add-on maker from Bedrock edition (Pocket Edition). I would like to use the Maker, but my PC is VERY important to me.
I mean, does it work with Malwarebytes? Found it 5 minutes ago, at a mod maker for Minecraft. I'm bad at programming.
Can't you read? Ja.
Thank you.
If someone already sends you a link in the answer, you should probably click on it before you ask unnecessarily…
