How to play Minecraft locally on the Switch on a screen?

I've tried several times to play Minecraft with my brother for two. But it didn't work because we didn't know how to play in pairs

Press and hold the symbol (+ or -) on the second controller to join

You need a second, local profile on the switch. Then you can have your second profile as the second player in the game.
