What rooms does a temple have?

I want to build a Maya temple in Minecraft. Since I'm not very familiar with temples and the culture of these peoples, I googled once, but did not get an answer to the question of which rooms are in a temple.

So, I googled once, e.g. "How is a Mayan temple structured?", "Sketch of Mayan temple" etc. There were many completely different links, sometimes with sketches.

Sure, with some you have to READ longer passages, take notes, look up what this or that means in architecture. They are also texts in which you can make your own sketches based on the description.

To be honest, that's a topic that I don't care about at all. But it is not true that you do not get any information on the rooms of Maya temples on the internet and how they are structured.
