Piglin trading is not possible?

I'm playing Minecraft on PS4 (Bedrock version). Me and a friend have tried everything possible with the gold bars, but the Piglins don't trade. Are we doing something wrong or is it not possible on the Bederock version?

Are they sure normal Piglins and not zombie victims or Piglin Brutes?

This already works on the Bedrock Edition. Did you guys try to get it on the ground in front of the Piglins? They then collect that and trade it automatically.

How do I know which normal Piglins are?

Yes, but they didn't collect anything

If they look half like a cyborg zombie, it's Zombie Piglins, and if the Piglins are dressed in black, it's Piglin Brutes.

Perhaps you or your friend have deactivated the "mobGriefing" rule.

mobGriefing denotes, on the one hand, that mobs can destroy blocks (e.g. Creepers if they explode), and on the other hand, that mobs can pick up items.

So if you do

/ gamerule mobGriefing false

inputs to issue mobGriefing and thus prevent Creeper explosions, then you also prevent Piglins from picking up items. Hence, they do not deal with you.

To re-enable mobGriefing so the Piglins can pick up the gold, enter:

/ gamerule mobGriefing true
