What is better?

Is Minecraft Windows 10 Edition or Java Edition better. Can someone tell me that who knows what they're doing?

pu

If you have Windows 10 then of course the version. If not then Java.

However, I'm not familiar with performance / stability.

Fu

Java. Definitely 100%. Servers are better and you have more options, datapacks, mods, etc.

am

Definitely Java, there you have a lot more options as there are mods and big servers too

st

Java, windows edition feels like a console edition and is also very similar to the pocket edition

and most youtubers you play with minecraft, play the Java version

there are also better mods, etc., more variety

and if you have Java you get the bedrock edition (windows 10) as far as I know

fa

You can't say which is better. Personally, I would use Java because you have a lot more auto-farm options than in Windows 10 or Bedrock. There are also better mods on Java

Bo

That's because Windows 10 is the console version.

Qu

Getting the Bedrock was over, Mojang has now stopped. But the answers are fundamentally correct: Minecraft: Bedrock uses C ++ instead of Java and draws corresponding performance advantages, which results in smoother gameplay. The modding community is not huge, but there's something there. Since MC: Java has been around for so long, there are innumerable, especially old, not updated mods.

Qu

Has nothing to do with it. Minecraft: Bedrock was originally the mobile game and since C ++ also works on other platforms, it's easier to transfer to the console than Java.

st

Correction: You can no longer get the Bedrock edition trzdm I would still prefer Java

Qu

Bedrock has the cross-platform advantage.

Bo

No, what you say has nothing to do with it.

java, windows edition feels like a console edition and is also very similar to the pocket edition

That's just because it's the same version.

Ca

So because I want to buy Minecraft on my PC and just wanted to ask what is better but everyone says yes Java

Ca

Can I then also play with my friends or do I need a subscription?

st

What version do your friends have?

Qu

The Minecraft Windows 10 variant belongs to the Bedrock "family". The Bedrock Edition was initially the Minecraft PE (i.e. For mobile) version, which has seen potential because C ++ is used and it is more stable.

MC: Java was the first Minecraft that ever came out and is still actively being developed parallel to MC: Bedrock. It was speculated that this would be discontinued because C ++ is simply better in the use case. Nothing has happened so far, but it might come to that.

The console edition, which has limited worlds and was there for consoles, is a completely different version and has nothing to do with the others and was developed by 4J Studios in cooperation with Mojang. Since these are partly not things like TNT-Kannoen etc. Reproduced because of the minimalist code or physics (because of performance on last-gen consoles) this was discontinued and the Bedrock: Edition is now also used for consoles.

Ca

So I don't know but could I play with the Java version e.g. With the PS4?

st

No, only with the bedrock version
