I've been playing Minecraft on the PC for a few years now and have never had any problems with it crashing, and mods worked great even though I only have a 32 bit system. For almost a week I have been trying to allocate more RAM because I get an error message (out of memory) but if I add more RAM the PC crashes, no matter how much / little I add. PS: servers still work.
How much RAM do you have in total?
Which operating system?
How much RAM?
4GB I think.
The system and other processes also need their RAM and if you add something you take it away somewhere else. 4GB is really a critical amount when it comes to performance.
With a 32 bit system, this will probably not work. You can only max. Assign 1Gb
I know, but everything worked great until 1 week ago, only very rarely did it fail.
