Minecraft Forge doesn't open?

Minecraft Forge (1.12.2) does not open for me, no matter what I do. I have the latest Java version, I don't have any old ones installed and I already have a modpack in single player, for which I logically had to install Forge, but it still worked at the time. Now I want to start a Forge server and no matter what file I take (installer, Windows installer or .jar), it doesn't work. So I click e.g. Double on the universal file and nothing happens.

Urgently need help.

Download Java fix times then try again

Is there an error message? If you can't start Forge, try reinstalling Forge first (delete previous version). Mods out of the folder beforehand. Then try again. If that doesn't work. Try each mod once.

And the same with the server. Are there any error messages?

Didn't work

I quote myself "nothing happens". Why should I try every mod? They're not the problem. I can't even start the Forge file.

Le

How do you host the server?

Fo

I don't have a server. I want to host one on my PC with Forge.

Sorry. You wrote that you want to start a Forge server. It came across as if you had one that didn't work.

OK

Uninstall java and installire again

El

Install Java8 (if a different version is installed)
Download and run the Java installer on Forge
Click on "Install Server" and enter the target path, then install

Now all necessary files for the server are created there… Then start minecraft_server. ####. Jar. This ends immediately, but has created a text file EULA.txt… Open it and replace "false" with "true" in the last line. Start the server file again, which should now open… Then you can also start the Forge server.

It is best to create an https://minecraft-de.gamepedia.com/...#Windows_3 in the same directory and the line:

java -Xmx1024M -jar forge-universal.jar

enter. The file name "forge-universal.jar" must match the file in the directory. To do this, rename the forest file without the version number, as I wrote it here. The command line does not like the dots in the file name…

Change the 1024 according to the memory to be allocated. For example, 2048 for 2GB, if you have enough like to enter 4096 so that the server has 4GB Ram… Especially with many mods that makes sense…

Thank you for your many approaches, one of which might have worked, but yesterday I simply reinstalled Java (even though I had the latest version) and deleted all folders that have something to do with Forge or certain mods and now it works again
