(Minecraft Mods) Should I leave Forge on my outdated computer or bother and install Fabric?

A friend of mine says that Forge doesn't work properly on an old PC like the one I have. And crashes after a while. To the best of his knowledge, Fabric should be doing better. What do you all mean? Fabric or Forge?
