My problem is that when I join my Aternos server, which runs on Forge and has several mods, it lagges very nicely and has 0-12 fps all the time, although the day before I had over 30fps and no problems. I'm very sad about that. The console then says: 23:14:57] [Server thread / WARN] [minecraft / MinecraftServer]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 4541ms behind, skipping 90 tick (s)
Now the strange thing is, my friend also plays on the same server and has no problems at all and over 60fps when he (even) goes to our server via the same WLAN.
We're also not sitting on the server blowing up loads of TNT, we're all doing the same thing as we did the day before, when everything still worked without any problems. So the problem only affects me, and the message in the console is only displayed when I join the server.
Hopefully someone can help me.
The server is not responsible for your FPS, your PC is responsible for that. Your PC just doesn't manage to smoothly display the number of installed mods. The warning message "Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 4541ms behind, skipping 90 tick (s)" simply states that the server itself is overloaded and is therefore hanging behind. There's not much you can do about that.
First of all thanks for your answer. How can it be that yesterday everything could be played without any problems from the same PC even with the same mods? I haven't changed anything on my PC. By the way, I just looked again at the server and found that my fps drop to zero after a Windows update, but instead they stay for a few moments (and all other displays when I press f3) but still show 20-30 fps. The blame for the fact that only a few fps were shown before is that my Windows had to be updated. That means, the problem can no longer be with my PC.
So my goal is to find out why I'm suddenly getting this message for no reason, even though it is not causing any problems for the other player on my server. I'm the only one who lags…
