Minecraft on the Switch - can't sign in?

I have an active online membership, stable internet, the Bedrock Edition on the Switch, and a Microsoft account. But I can't log in, no matter how many times I enter the code on the page and are told I can close it, I'm always presented with a new code.

I have a relatively new Switch Lite, so maybe that makes a difference.
