I like to watch Youtube or Netflix and play some games by the way. So far this has always been modded Minecraft, but that is slowly getting monotonous. So I'm looking for a game that you can play on half the screen without losing the fun. Also, it should not take all of my concentration and if anything exciting happens in the series, I should always be able to either just leave the game alone without dying or the like, or I should always be able to pause.

Civilization 5 or 6. Is a strategy game, has a lot of depth, makes buck and you do not have to look continuously at the game because it is round based.
