Hi, I have the Minecraft version for the Nintendo switch and wanted to ask why the BE has a different version number than the Java Edition and whether they are on the same level.

Because there are different games. The Bedrock version, which is on the switch, is being developed by a team other than the Java version.

In terms of content, they should not be different anymore. It may be that a version gets an update earlier. But not more.
