I would like to create a Minecraft server (just for me and my friends), but not with Aternos or MC4U but myself.
Does anyone know how I do this?
So if you want to host on your pc here is a good guide:
but so that your friends can join you have to open the ports on the router
If it shouldn't be about aternos, I just spontaneously think of trying it over Hamachi
Requirements:
1. Adequate PC (especially CPU and RAM)
2. Good internet connection
What you have to do:
Set up local server
Enable ports (default: 25565)
Set firewall rules
Start server
Give public IP to the people who should join
If you have a dynamic IP and it always bothers you to tell your friends the new IP, you can use services like No-IP to create a domain
Unfortunately I don't know much about security problems with port releases etc, so I have to inform you if you are interested.
There are enough good tutorials for all of this on youtube
Thanks, unfortunately I have a real scrap PC haha
So if it is really just a few people, it could still work as long as they are not modpacks and only a few plugins.
Which CPU and RAM?
And instead of using the normal Spigot version, I would advise you to use PaperSpigot, the same thing is that PaperSpigot runs faster, so it is less lagging.
If you have a bad PC, as you described, then you have no choice but to rent a V-Server and then install the Minecraft server there yourself. But that also costs money;)
Or he buys a server on ebay or something like that I mean there are many (cheap variants)
Thank's for the Tipps!
Well, it's not worth it;) A V-Server costs less than the server on Ebay per month of electricity;)
And don't forget the connection, the administration, the reliability, the noise, … And if you now calculate V-Server against purchase price + electricity, …
I would rather rent a server even if it is only one with 2gb. With a "scrap PC" you will have no fun. In addition, when the 24/7 is running you / your parents are looking forward to the electricity bill. There are server providers who offer 24/7 servers per GB with infinite slots and subdomains for 1 euro per GB.
Check out Mine Hoster, MC Host etc.
So I'm happy with mine 🤷🏻♂️
Sure, what kind of person do you have if I can ask? Nuc or something, ok. But if you have something X, then the 80Watt consumes and that costs a lot throughout ^^ But there are households where electricity is included. It would be so much better with that
