I would like to try the Minecraft servers on the Nintendo Switch and would like to ask if you need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription for the servers. Because I don't want to buy the subscription for the server now because otherwise I never play online.

You have to have it online but you do not need a subscription. Get Aldi ne online card for the 1st month or so
