My friend has a minecraft server and he has been using the putty program for a few days, but he can no longer log in to control the server.
support is only available again from monday and that's why we contacted you here. Does anyone know the problem when you can no longer log in to the program or what the error or errors could be and how to fix it without having to wait until tomorrow for support?
Maybe the server's IP address has changed? Because from a certain point in time, new IP addresses are assigned by the router.
Putty is a Minecraft server program wtf
The ip is correct but the password is wrong
Putty is usually used for SSH. I think the FS expressed it wrong.
Well then the password is wrong. There's the problem, he has to change the password. What, where and which OS is running on the computer?
It doesn't matter who knows putty knows what kind of program it is
Yes no Minecraft server program
Wrong password?
Thanks for your help the password is on the website and that's wrong he says. Linux debian (debian 10) runs on the computer
No, unfortunately, not the password is on the website and he used it and that is unfortunately wrong
The default password or how?
Reset Password?
He also tried everything but nothing worked do you know any other way how to fix that?
Does he have his own password? If he has changed the password, the standard password will not work.
Yes he used the standard password but then it didn't work and he reinstalled linux because the server is running on it and then he got a new one and then loaded the backup.
Doesn't work unless you know how to do it?
So everything works again?
He has no password of his own and has not changed, just as I said, reinstalled everything? Can you see the standard password where?

If he didn't set his own password, root doesn't have one either.
If he wants to reset that, he can do it with the instructions.

No that's the problem he didn't change his password and the standard password what he got on the website doesn't work
You have to read my comment correctly:
Debian has no default password! Root is not password protected by default.
You have to do this with the hoster. I don't know where you host ^^
Hoster-unlimited
I can't help you with the hoster, sorry
