A xxx.net is not a subdomain or third level domain
You don't get them for free
yyy.xxx.net would be a subdomain
Then no .net subdomain
The most attractive are probably .de.vu domains, which are free of charge
So I pay 11.90 euro a year for a .net domain at my host, which is just 99.2 cents a month
if you put a lot of value on your internet address then that is probably to be paid
A subdomain is created from your main domain. E.g. Meinedomain.de, subdomain: fuerdich.meinedomain.de
If you don't have your own server, a subdomain won't do you much good, since it has to be entered on the server.
