Why is my Minecraft server lagging and why is it?
That would require more information.
Which hardware, which plugins, how many players, etc. Mfg Jannick (L1nd)
Can have many causes. Too little RAM, the server runs on a VM and a lot runs on the "neighboring" machines too. The connection to the internet is rather weak. It's badly configured. Too many plugins? Unfortunately, you don't write a lot of information about your server.
I ordered one from the Nitrado website
no plugins
6 players
Ram: 1024
Yeah, I can definitely advise against using Nitrado. Just way too expensive
What are alternatives?
and what are the lags?
I don't know, should be enough
Maybe 2GB would be more useful
1024 ram
6 players
no plugins
To assess the lack of information:
Hoster
version
R.A.M.
hardware
Plugins
Player Numbers
1024 GB RAM? XD
Ram 1024Mb
version 1 16 4
no plugins
6 players
hoster nitrado
1024 gb ram?
MB
Thought so
What are the lags
But no idea. There may be too many armor stands or there may be too many items on the floor. A Clearlagg might make sense
How do I do this and what is it?
This is a plugin that removes all items on the floor every 3-4 minutes
How do i download this
Take a look here: https://server.nitrado.net/deu/faqs/show/29/Mein-Minecraft-Server-Laggt-Was-kann-ich-tun
Just search on google
Too little ram, too many slots, too many plugins…
Sure, not enough RAM. The 1.16.4 needs at least 3 GB, more with gamers.
1GB RAM is not enough for the new versions.
And don't buy Nitrado servers. So hard overpriced.
Aside from increasing the RAM, it would help to use PaperSpigot instead of Spigot. And then it helps even more to use Aikar's flags. But only if it is still lagging
In addition, plugins like Clearlag can help, sometimes more and sometimes less
Who is talking about 1024GB RAM here?
He means 1024 MB. That corresponds to 1 GB
To be precise, 1024MB corresponds to one GiB (Gibibyte).
With a TiB (Tebibyte) of RAM he would definitely have enough xD
Officially yes, but no pig cares. I have never seen anyone with GiB / TiB /. Used. 1024MB is 1GB, almost every computer scientist will agree with me.
Depends on the direction of computer science
How do i change that?
Well, you just replace the normal spigot.jar with PaperSpigot
But at Nitrado there should definitely be an option for somewhere
