New inhabitant of Minecraft beehive?

I mined a beehive with an enchanted tool and placed it at home.

Another player on the server accidentally hit the bee and it died.

Is the hive now uninhabited forever or is there a chance that it will be inhabited by new bees?

If you place it next to other bees, they go into the beehive. However, it is not re-inhabited on its own.

You might try luring another bee to the hive with a flower.

But this only works if you switch to creative mode beforehand. ; )
