The Bedrock version. The Java only applies to PC. On PC / laptop you can have both the JAVA and the BEDROCK version, but mobile phones, PS or XBOX etc. Only have the Bedrock version.

I agree. Better in my opinion. But the Bedrock version, like vanilla, has better textures for water e.g. Or a few small features. You can compensate for this with TP or Shader, but not everyone is familiar with it
The Bedrock Edition is available on smartphones, PS4, XboxOne and PC. The textures look a little better too. And it offers crossplay. So when I play on the PC I can play with someone who, for example, plays on the smartphone.
The Java Edition is only available on the PC. Does not offer crossplay but has, for example, the best mods. In addition, you can change the versions in the Java Edition, for example play old versions again.
Both have advantages and disadvantages. Both are great games. I myself currently prefer the Bedrock Edition because of crossplay.
