I thought about getting Minecraft again, because I would like to play it with my buddy the next time. However, I'm not sure which edition I should get me. I do not know if the two versions evt would be compatible with each other… Would be glad if I could enlighten anyone there 😂
Windows 10 edition is the same as on the phone or the ps4. That's just a "light" version of the game. As far as I know they are all compatible with each other. So for the cross-platform multiplayer I mean. You still have to buy the game separately for each device
And the Java edition the right PC game

There it is:
Missing game elements such as the two-handed system.
Low number of resource bundles, add-ons, other modifications and multiplayer servers
So much for that. But I find it particularly exciting:
It has a multiplayer mode that not only allows connection to other Windows 10 players, but also to Xbox (via Xbox Live) and Pocket Edition players of all devices.
There's nothing of the Java version and they would write the Java version if it were possible because it is the most common version. I therefore assume that these versions are not compatible.
That means:
Take the Java version. There are most features, mods, resource packs, servers, etc. In addition, new features first land in the Java version.
Oh wow, that's an unequivocal decision…
Several free Mods, Texture Paxks and so on. Most people play the Java version. The only real downside is Java itself.
Java is essential and performance-consuming, but otherwise it's the only true version. But ask your friend what version you play before.
Windows 10 would be the Bedrock version. Which runs on mobile phones and consoles as far as I know.
Java is logically PC Only, but that does not really matter because I think you just have to play MC on PC. Everything else is quickly corrosive.
Yes, the Java version is completely stand-alone.
With the Bedrock version, they wanted to sum up everything under the supervision of Microsoft. Only this brings too many disadvantages.
Java is the original version. Bedrock the version for consoles and mobile devices. And no. The Java version is completely independent.
The Java and Windows 10 versions are completely independent accounts.
Ok, thank you for your help! I asked again and found out that if you get Java, then the "mobile" version gets to it. But Java really seems to be a lot better
The Bedrock version has some limitations.
Alone that one relies on my knowledge on official server. By far the most community server is on the Java version.
