Java Eclipse error when starting the project?

I'm currently in the process of programming a modification for Minecraft and then I came across this error when starting the project and the program does not want to load either: "Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine." then under it "Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit." Another mistake is this one

"Can't connect to VM

com.sun.jdi.connect.TransportTimeoutException "

What can I do? I've already tried a few things and seen them in forums but nothing really worked.

Just reinstall the JDK and see if the path variable is set correctly.

Where do I look up that with the path variable?
