When I drink a strength drink in Minecraft, I do more sword shading. But what if I drink a strength drink and then shoot with the bow, does it do more damage than before or do strength drinks only affect melee combat?

No, the strength of Trabk only affects melee with any item. With a bow, the effect looks like by hand.
