Why does a wanderer always come in Minecraft when you do something with redstone / technology?

I've been playing Minecraft for years and I also build a lot of techniques.

But every time I build, a wanderer / trader comes (we call him a spy).

Why is that? Is it so purely programmed in the game or is it just a coincidence?

Depends on chance, they always come by, has nothing to do with the Redstone

For real? Because if I only build a house, nobody will come.

They often come close to villages so if a village is nearby, that's not surprising

But there's no village nearby. It's kind of very scary…
