Minecraft - what can you do about silverfish?

Whenever I dig a few blocks deep anywhere in Minecraft, be it near my house or anywhere else on my island, silverfish come out immediately and that happens a lot.

Can you do anything about them? I always take it to get them done because they are hard to catch.

Got the Java Edition and play on Easy.

Ac

These are Infested Stones, nothing can be done about them. If you dismantle one of them, all of them will break nearby and reveal even more silverfish.

Ta

Laserluca also plays minecraft and his island is generated by chance and he has no silverfish

Ac

Laserluca played Minecraft many years ago. Minecraft has changed a lot since then.

Ta

He's been playing minecraft again this year because he hasn't had a single silverfish

Ac

Then he's just lucky.

Your island may be a mountain biome. Can this be?

Un

Quite simply, there are certain blocks in which the silver fish are in, they look like normal stone blocks, but I'll tell you how you can find out whether this is a silver fish block, that's what I call it and you can dismantle them by hand and very much For example, as fast as a block of grass you can't do it or just play peacefully.

Ta

Yes, but I also looked for a new small island without any mountains that are much further away and around it are still some small islands and I removed a block and 9 silverfish came out and when I finished them more and more came

Do you have your house near or in a mountain biome? They spawn there far more often than anywhere else, and I've only met a few there so far. As far as I know, what can defeat them is a Bane of Athropods Level 5 sword and preferably a Sweeping Edge. So you should get rid of them in one fell swoop

Ac

In the 1.17 snapshots, silverfish appear everywhere. Maybe you play in the snapshot.

Ta

My main island, yes, but I've looked for a new island. Is a small island without mountains and around it are some small islands

With the f3 mode you can see in which blocks there are silverfish. But only goes on java

Ta

Have java

ed

OK. For the mode you simply have to press the f3 key (depending on the computer also in combination with the fn key). Then a debug menu pops up. You probably already know him as a java player. There's a line there that tells you which block you are currently looking at. Say on which block the cross is on. Silverfish can only be found in all variants of the stone block. If you find someone with a silver fish, "contaminated" should be in front of his name.
