Can villagers despavnen?

I have bunkered a villager in Minecraft in my house since the new update. Could this despaw if I leave it or if I start the world anew?

Almost everything you want to know can be found with a simple search on the net.

He can't despawnen.

However, you do not conduct species-appropriate Villager attitude!

No he can't but he can, (as long as you do not hinder him by a cage or something xD) just open the door and be gone.
