Enderportal destroyed?

I'm playing Minecraft again on my PS Vita to collect trophies. When I found the Enderportal in the Tutorialworld and picked myself out again, the portal was flooded which caused obsidian. My question now is whether it would be possible to simply refill the lava, or does the portal need to be full of lava, or is it enough to simply fill a bucket there?

I mean, the lava is really unimportant / no matter.

That does not matter. Just leave the obsidian there.

The portal works anyway.

For the end portal to work, you have to fill the frame with Enderaugen. Whether it's lava or obsidian or melons, it does not matter.
