Create your own minecraft server with plugins?

I'm interested in technology and would like to create my own server. So really create, i.e. No sites like aternos or nitrado, so create it yourself, so to speak. There should be important plugins on it, for mini games, Worldedit ect. Do you know a video or instructions on how to do this? LG Sasi ❤

On web hosts "create" means "rent" and on PC it means "host".

If you want your server to become famous, then you should rent it.

How much would you pay a month maximum?

The answers were not helpful.

A website is hosted, a server is created and to do that you need a special host for game servers, i.e.Nitrado, mchost24 or free aternos etc.

In order to get into the whole server thing at all, you can create an "exercise server" on the PC. If it is good for you, it can be uploaded to your rented or free server host using FTP (e.g. Filezilla).

A lot of knowledge is not required. On the page spigotmc.org (English) this is explained quite well. The WIKI from Nitrado is also very helpful and also some YouTube videos. Only here you have to be very careful not to find any ancient explanations that you no longer use.

Each plugin has a WIKI, where the functions are explained, the commands and permissions. You should be able to speak English fairly well to understand the meaning.

Success comes with the concept. The more unusual, the more effective. Plugins that everyone has will hardly attract players.
So first the concept, then the local server, the plugins, build and construct and then search and start game server hosts.

Good luck and above all a lot of fun, katzebiggi wishes you and stay healthy

You have to deal with programming if you want to create your own server from 0! This is an extremely large effort because first you need a fast computer and then all the programs that you have to be able to use first!

If you can program well, nothing is theoretically impossible, but unfortunately you don't learn that in 1 hour, it takes time and very, very much time! You can at least take a look at what means a server consists of and how it is structured.

It's not as easy as some people imagine. If you create a server from 0 onwards, you will definitely need 100 and more plugins so that you can set it all with the loading details and the graphic details. Then you have to build the minigames first and then you need a lot of plugins to wake them up to a working system technology.

So if you really mean a professional server with all sorts of things, it consists of 85% only plugins and programming software!

Do you think that you don't install spigot.jar, for example, but program your own server software yourself?

Sa

I want to host it myself, so nothing xD

For me, really creating means V- or RootServer, or renting

I still go to school, want to study something in technology, maybe.

The questioner asked how he can create a server without a provider? Logically he has to be able to program the server software and if you can't do that then you can forget about the rest!

St

That's not true, because the server software runs on Windows as well as on Linux… You don't have to program anything yourself and Minecraft doesn't do that at all… You can program the plugins, not the server…

St

Not for me…

Al

If you want to start at 0 but really 0.00 then you have to program the software first!

St

If you want to learn programming, yes…

But if you start as a user at 0.00, then you take existing software very well and learn with it…

Hopefully you agree with me, or did you develop and assemble your PC from individual components and I mean resistors and transistors… And then without any operating system, I gained my first experience…

Install Virtual Box and use it to create a Linux VM.

Then you install your server software according to the operating system (Debian recommendation without GUI), probably Minecraftserver.jar or Spigot.jar

That's all, besides Java, what you need to start your server…

You join in the same network via the internal IP of the VM… The command "IP a" tells you which IP "is pending" on your VM…

In order to operate the server externally, you have to enable port 25565 on the IP of the server in your router…

Then you can tell your fellow players the IP, which you can read on https://www.wieistmeineip.de…

Since this IP is likely to change every day, an external service such as dyn.com is recommended - from this you generate a host name like "mein_erster_server.homeip.net", which leads to your server permanently from the day it was created…

On this generated server you collect your experiences… And it is very helpful for your future development…

However, if he uses software that already exists on the Internet, he does not start at 0.00 but at 3.00%. I'm talking about what you need and what you need to be able to start absolutely at 0.00. The questioner wants to know exactly that!
