Why can't you let trees float in MC?

So. I've been playing MC for a long time. So Minecraft. Sometimes when my world loads, DO NOT LEAVE TREES! Why is that? And what happens so bad when you let trees float?

This is just a joke from the developers because it just looks stupid when trees float in the middle of the landscape

Nothing happens. It is only unnatural and you just remove it completely so that the leaves dissolve and new seedlings drop to plant new ones… Nothing to be stuck to…

Simply because it looks ugly.
