Can't I scaffold the scaffolding in Minecraft PE?

I really like the scaffold block in Minecraft PE. Only I have a problem: I can climb the scaffolding block by jumping, but if I press crawl, whether I hold it down or just let the figure sneak, I can't climb the block down. Is this just a bug for Minecraft PE or do I have this bug? If only I have this bug, how can I fix it?
