Java always crashes after a second?

I have seen that this question has been asked sometimes, but the answers could never help me, so I conclude that I have a different problem than the other questioners.

I want to install Optifine, a modification of Minecraft. It was always very easy on my old PC. But not since I have the new one. I uninstalled Java and downloaded it again to rule out this error. When I press the file, a window opens for a split second which immediately disappears without an error message. I can't open Java itself either, it immediately crashes in the same way. I've already tried it via CMD, I'll copy the LOG in here:

C: \ Users \ Max> cd desktop

C: \ Users \ Max \ Desktop> cd optifine

C: \ Users \ Max \ Desktop \ Optifine> java -jar OptiFine_1.16.5_HD_U_G7 (2) .jar

Error: Unable to access jarfile OptiFine_1.16.5_HD_U_G7

put a screenshot underneath so that you can see it better.

Does anyone have a tip what else I could do?

There must be no spaces in the file name! You have to rename the file to OptiFine_1.16.5_HD_U_G7.jar!

Br

You have a space in the filename. Rename or put in quotes.

It worked, thank you very much!

It worked, thank you very much! Sat there since yesterday

Apparently you downloaded optifine 2 times and now the installer can't find the correct .jar (2). It is best to delete everything and download it again.

There's also an installation manual (English):

https://www.minecraftforum.net/...haders-and

Maybe that will help.

Thanks, the space in the filename was probably the problem, now I've done it.
