I have the Minecraft Java edition (pc), can I play it online with my friends? If so, how exactly?
You can only play with them if they also have the Java Edition. Only Java Edition can play with Java Edition and Bedrock Edition can play together with Bedrock Editon: /
There are two possibilities.
1. You go to the multiplayer menu. Go to Add Server there and type in an IP address from a server e.g. Gommehd.net or lytrion.de
or
2. You play over LAN
You have to rent a server. Some of them are available for free, or so from 2-4 euro / month, then you can play together over the Internet…
If you also have the Java Edition via a server such as B grief games or the like or you do an aternos acc at aternos. De and get a free server there. And if you spend money you can rent one from Nitrado.
I just want to add that if you have a relatively good pc you can run your own server in the background. Simply downloading it for free is usually better and cheaper than renting. Then port forwarding on the router and if you don't always want to send the new ip then stop at noip or create a free dydnns address. Install at NoIp DUC or configure in the router that the ip is changed. Is relatively easy with Fritz box. It is only important that you take the public ip com router and not the local one from your pc that you get via ipconfig. If you are in the same Internet, the local ip is enough and you don't need port forwarding. Then only the dyndns does not work
