No, actually you do not lose any performance. Can only become unstable, you just have to do it right.
AMD graphics cards would always be undercloud because they eat a lot of power and quickly get hot and loud
Welcome to the year 2019 we're not in the year 2002. AMD has long solved the heat problems.
I do not know what kind of problems there used to be, but it's still a fact that AMD gpus overheats easier than nvidia. Need up to twice as much energy as the Nvidia competition in full load.
