Will ray tracing in Minecraft come to the PS4?

Will you be able to play Minecraft with ray tracing on PS4 in the future?

If you look at other games in terms of shaders and performance, the PS4 does it quite well. Why shouldn't that work with Minecraft too?

Ce

Because the Ps4 has no RTX card installed. Ray tracing will only be possible through detours, and then not as one would like it to be.

Le

But why does the PS4 create other, significantly higher-resolution games?

Ce

That has nothing to do with it. Find out what ray tracing is

Ko

Ray tracing is something completely different than just beautiful graphics and the PS4 is simply too old and too bad to be able to reproduce ray tracing. Apart from the fact that the PS4 is not able to Lul

Sc

Raytracing is software for RTX graphics cards.

Ca

No, not guaranteed

Le

Okay but then you can't use "simpler" shaders

st

It's not impossible, it just takes a while.

Za

No, never. Has no RTX graphics card and why should they make improvements to an outdated generation? They're now focusing on the PS5

Ca

Raytracing is also possible without RTX cards…

Ca

Ray tracing already existed before the RTX cards…

Sc

And who has ray tracing for graphics cards other than nvidia? Amd not.

st

Ray tracing is much older than the RTX cards.

Za

Thank you Sherlock… I almost didn't know…

Le

What about "simple" shaders? That should be possible

Za

Bro just forget about it. Will never come

st

Come down from your fanboy tower. The Nintendo64 has already used ray tracing.

Ca

Any GPU, even a Voodoo or an ATI Radeon HD 2600XT.

Ea

The fact that ray tracing has been around since 1963 and NV was only founded 30 years later is probably not an invention of them…

Ca

Yes that should work. But you won't do much because the PS4's GPU is comparatively bad.

Ca

I did not notice:

No, never. Has no RTX graphics card…

Ca

You can see how Nvidia's marketing works with children these days.

Ea

That and that nobody really knows anything about hardware anymore in terms of origin and function… That was completely different in the 486 / P1 times (my entry).
