I'm thinking of getting Minecraft for the Switch. Are there big differences to the version for the PC? And could I play with people on the PC?
If you have java version you can't play.
if you have the windows 10 version then you can play with consoles.
Whether you have the Java version or the Windows 10 Edition for the PC. You will get the Bedrock Edition, which also includes the Windows 10 Edition or Pocket Edition. Crossplay is possible on all Bedrock Editions. However, I can tell you from my own experience that you as a Java player will not be happy with the Bedrock Edition. Whether you like Minecraft for the console at all is up to you, I definitely can't recommend it.
Okay, thank you!
Is recommended.
From my own experience, I would advise against it. Not that it's bad or anything. I think playing minecraft with the controllers is never as comfortable as with a mouse and keyboard. Keyboard are only the keys W A S D important keys 1-9 and left and right click. That's why it makes more sense and I'm much more self-explanatory than constantly looking around on the controller which button triggers what. And looking for the buttons on the controller is often the case. The keyboard is enough for you to take a look and you've memorized everything. In addition, the Java version for pc. So I would generally say to bedrock plus controller that there's not much more you can do wrong. Therefore PC + Java = best possible choice
