Should I buy the Minecraft Bedrock Edition or the Java Edition? I already have the Bedrock Edition on the Nintendo Switch. Now I want to get Minecraft on my PC. So which version should I buy?

Java version, the Bedrock Edition is always a few updates behind.
Definitely the Java version. Much more freedom in terms of mods, etc.
I would definitely take the Java version because you have more options there. There are more servers, more resource packs (especially more free ones), you can install mods, I don't think shaders are possible with Bedrock and in general I find the Java version to be easier to control, but that's probably just a matter of getting used to.
In addition to the Bedrock variant of the Switch, you will also see the other side of Minecraft 😉
