I'm just wondering how I get to the Bedrock edition. My girlfriend plays minecraft on the switch and me on the pc. How can we connect?
There's Minecraft Bedrock in the Windows Store. If you have windows.
If you have a Minecraft Java Edition account you should get the game for free.
Simply log in to Mojang using the Minecraft data.

The Bedrock Edition is available on many platforms. For PC, there are only Win10. You either have to buy them or you already have them. That would be the case if you bought the Java version. But that would have to be ~ a year ago. If you had the Java version back then, you got the Win10 Bedrock Edition for free. This is not possible anymore.
